Career Altitude^TM  is a self-paced, customizable program of twenty-one free-standing workshops, delivered in two formats (virtually, or face-to-face in Northern Colorado) and three times per week - in two virtual (Tuesday evening and Saturday morning) and one face-to-face (Monday-morning) sessions. 

Participants purchase one, two, four, eight or twelve Career Altitude workshops, and attend the seminars that best suit their job-search, career-change or career-development needs.

Each Career Altitude^TM workshop teaches participants a set of specific, practical concepts and skills for thriving in the new-millennium workplace, whether the focus is finding a new job or gaining skills at the current one.

What is different about the Career Altitude program?
National workplace expert Liz Ryan,  one of the country's top career advisors, leader of the 25,000-member Ask Liz Ryan online community, and columnist with a readership of 50 million people per month, is known for her fresh, incisive take on personal branding, career planning, communication, social media and job-search and career-advancement techniques.

When and where are Career Altitude workshops offered?
Career Altitude workshops are offered three times per week, in two virtual (teleconference) and one face-to-face format (in Northern Colorado).  Please check out our Career Altitude workshop Calendar to see the schedule of Career Altitude workshops and to choose the sessions that suit your short- and longer-term needs.

Is there a particular order to the workshops, or can I attend the workshops in any order?
Career Altitude is a 'rolling' program without a designated beginning or end. Every workshop is packed with valuable information, and doesn't require participation in previous Career Altitude workshops (exception: it is helpful to attend our Intro to LinkedIn workshop before attending the Advanced LinkedIn session).  Career Altitude workshops can be taken in any order. You choose the workshops that are most appropriate for your current situation, and attend as many as you like. You have the option to purchase one, two, four, eight or twelve workshops.

Can I register for just one or two seminars?
Register for one or several or as many as you like! You will purchase one, two, four, eight or twelve workshop registrations. You'll be welcome at each Career Altitude workshop that is offered, until you've attended as many workshops as you purchased.

How do the virtual workshops work?
Each virtual Career Altitude workshop is led by national careers expert Liz Ryan, and is 95 minutes in length.  We use the Calliflower teleconferencing service and shared documents to include participants in a lively, interactive sesson. Every week, two virtual Career Altitude seminars are offered – one on Tuesday evening, and one on Saturday morning.

What is the registration cost?
The registration cost for the Career Altitude program varies with the number of workshops purchased. The cost for the full 12-workshop Career Altitude program is $499. The registration cost for one workshop purchased on its own, is $79. Please scroll down this page to see the one-, two-, four-, eight- and 12-workshop pricing options below.

Are corporate discounts available?
Yes! A discount is available for three or more participants registering from the same organization at the same time. Contact us here for more information on that option.

I have been out of the workforce for a while and I'm on the fence between seeking a W-2 job or launching a consulting business. Can I get a recommendation on which Career Altitude seminars would be most useful for me?

Might my employer reimburse my Career Altitude registration cost?
Many organizations sponsor the Career Altitude program for their employees. The Career Altitude workshop series is perfect for on-the-job career and leadership development, and the job-search-focused seminars in the program represent a highly effective alternative or complement to traditional outplacement services for departing employees.

I want to attend several Career Altitude workshops but the ones I'm interested in aren't offered for several weeks. Can I still get my questions answered at a Career Altitude workshop if they're not related to the day's topic?
Career Altitude workshops are for real job-seekers and career-minded people, and we deal with our participants' situations and issues in every workshop. Every workshop is very influenced by the needs of the people who attend, so any Career Altitude workshop will be a great place to get your questions answered and move your job search or career planning forward.

Can I share my purchased registrations with other people?
If you'd like to transfer your registration(s) before attending your first workshop, you can arrange that by writing to
Jackie Marrinan, Member Services Manager, at jackie@asklizryan.com. After you've attended your first workshop, registration(s) are no longer transferable.

Are Career Altitude registrations refundable?
Career Altitude registrations are not refundable, but participants have plenty of time to use the workshop registrations they've purchased. For the one-workshop registration, you may choose any workshop that's offered in the sixty days following your purchase. For two registrations, you have 90 days to use your purchased registrations. For four registrations, you have 120 days to use your purchased registrations. For eight registrations, you have 150 days. For 12 registrations, you have six months, or 180 days, to use your purchased registrations before they expire. You may also transfer the registration(s) you've purchased, before attending your first workshop, by contacting Jackie Marrinan at jackie@asklizryan.com.

Career Altitude workshops are offered in two virtual sessions and one face-to-face (in Northern Colorado) session per week, so you will find plenty of practical, relevant Career Altitude content on the schedule no matter when you join the program. I like the descriptions of many of the Career Altitude workshops. Can I purchase more than 12 of them?
Once you've completed (attended) 12 Career Altitude workshops, you will have earned a certificate of completion in the Career Altitude program. You will have the opportunity at that point to purchase more workshop registrations at a reduced cost. If you’re interested in more information on that, please click here to reach us via our Contact form.

If I purchase one workshop registration and want to continue, can I still receive a discount on additional registrations that I purchase? I would like to try one before committing to more sessions.
After attending your first Career Altitude workshop, you'll be offered the opportunity to register for more workshops at a discount (within a window of a few days following your first workshop).
