A New, Expanded
Ask Liz Ryan
Job-Search Coaching Series
Is Launching on Wednesday mornings in Broomfield!

We are launching an expanded, seven-week Job Search coaching-and-discussion series, meeting at the Meritage Restaurant at the Omni Hotel in Broomfield, Colorado on Wednesday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. from September 23rd through November 4th, 2009.

New!
By popular demand, we've added one session to our series and one half-hour to each meeting to cover more essential job-search techniques and allow for more Q & A at each session.

The Job-Search Coaching Series will be led by Liz Ryan, a former Fortune 500 corporate HR VP and syndicated columnist whose job-search advice is followed by 50 million readers and listeners per month.

Liz is the author of
Happy About Online Networking: the Virtually Simple Way to Build Professional Relationships, an international keynote speaker on careers and the workplace, and the leader of the 25,000-member

Each week for seven weeks, we’ll meet from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to learn job-search techniques from Liz, share our experiences and learning, set goals for the coming week and gain support and advice from one another.

Here’s more information on the Ask Liz Ryan Job-Search Coaching Series beginning September 23rd, 2009:

What are the dates of the meetings?

We’ll begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009 and meet for seven weeks, ending on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009. Our newly expanded program is seven weeks long and meets for two hours each week, versus six weeks long and 1.5 hours per meeting in our earlier Job Search Coaching groups.

What will I get out of the Job Search Coaching series?

You’ll get instruction and advice on the soup-to-nuts ins and outs of successful job-searching, from online employer research to pricing yourself for this market to smart resume and cover letter techniques. You’ll get reinforcement from a small group of fellow job-seekers, and job-search advice from Liz Ryan, one of the top career advisors in the U.S.

You will learn:
  • How to zoom in on a clear and practical job-search direction
  • How to write a strong, human-voiced resume
  • How to write customized cover letters to get employers' attention
  • How to use LinkedIn in your job search
  • How to use your existing networks (virtual and 3D) to help propel your job-search forward
  • How to gauge your salary level, broach the salary topic and negotiate job offers
  • How to conduct phone screens and face-to-face interviews for maximum impact
and lots more!

Each week, we’ll spend time updating the group on our job-search progress; learning a new set of techniques from Liz; sharing conversation about our job-search issues of the moment, and creating goals for the coming week.

What about breakfast?

We'll each order and purchase our own breakfast.

Can I attend just one or two sessions?

For continuity’s sake, the program will include the same group of participants throughout.

Which job-search topics will we discuss?

Here’s our topics roadmap for the six-week coaching series (keeping in mind that we’ll deal with the subjects that are top-of-mind for our members each week, as well):

  • Week one: Your job-search direction and ‘prongs’
  • Week two: Resume and cover letter language that hits its mark
  • Week three: Avoiding the Black Hole by writing 'pain letters' to decision-makers directly
  • Week four: LinkedIn and social networking in your job search
  • Week five: Zeroing in on employers; targeted outreach to decision-makers and influencers
  • Week six: Enrolling your network in your job search
  • Week seven: Pricing yourself for the market; salary negotiation
How much does the program cost?

The cost is $299 for the six-week program, which includes seven two-hour meetings plus:

* three of Liz's E-books
* participation in a members-only online discussion group and LinkedIn group, and
* discounts on Liz's one-on-one career guidance services

Where is the Meritage Restaurant in Broomfield?

Here's the address:

Meritage at the Omni Interlocken Hotel
500 Interlocken Boulevard
Broomfield, Colorado 80021

How do I pay for the coaching series?

You’ll pay the $299 program fee via the Buy Now button at the bottom of this page.

If my plans change, is this purchase refundable?

Because the group size is limited by the room size, Coaching Group purchases aren't refundable, but you can transfer your membership in the group to a friend if your plans change, before the first meeting date. (No other refund or transfer of the registration fee is available.)
Thanks!

NOTE: This program is perfect for white-collar job-seekers and people looking for W-2 and/or 1099 consulting work. It's not appropriate for career coaches and counselors, as all of the material is proprietary and copyrighted.

NOTE: Individual career-guidance services aren't part of this program, but can be arranged separately for people who are interested in those. Liz will review and comment on each of your six weekly coaching assignments.
