We are launching an expanded, virtual, seven-week Job Search coaching-and-discussion series, meeting on Tuesday evenings from 6:15 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. Mountain time. Members of our group will meet for six 95-minute sessions to learn the most effective job-search techniques from Liz Ryan, a national workplace expert, and to share tips and to network with one another.
The Virtual Job-Search Coaching Series will be led by Liz Ryan, a former Fortune 500 corporate HR VP and syndicated columnist whose job-search advice is followed by 50 million readers and listeners per month.

Each week for six weeks, we’ll meet by phone to learn job-search techniques from Liz, share our experiences and learning, set goals for the coming week and gain support and advice from one another.

What are the dates of the meetings?
We’ll begin at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 and meet for seven weeks, ending on Tuesday, October 27, 2009.
What will I get out of the Virtual Job Search Coaching series?
You’ll get very current instruction and advice on the soup-to-nuts ins and outs of successful job-searching, from online employer research to pricing yourself for this market to smart resume and cover letter techniques. You’ll get reinforcement from a small group of fellow job-seekers, and job-search advice from Liz Ryan, one of the top career advisors in the U.S.
Each week, we’ll spend time updating the group on our job-search progress; learning a new set of techniques from Liz; sharing conversation about our job-search issues of the moment, and creating goals for the coming week.
Can I attend just one or two sessions?
For continuity’s sake, the program will include the same group of participants throughout.
What time will the sessions begin in my time zone?
If you're in the Pacific time zone, each meeting will begin at 5:15 p.m.
If you're in the Mountain time zone, each meeting will begin at 6:15 p.m.
If you're in the Central time zone, each meeting will begin at 7:15 p.m.
If you're in the Eastern time zone, each meeting will begin at 8:15 p.m.
Which job-search topics will we discuss?
Here’s our topics roadmap for the six-week coaching series (keeping in mind that we’ll deal with the subjects that are top-of-mind for our members each week, as well):
* Week one - Your job-search direction and ‘prongs’
* Week two - Human-voiced resume and cover letter language that hits its mark
* Week three - Putting it all together: using a 'pain letter' and human-voiced resume to respond to posted job ads
* Week four - LinkedIn and social networking in your job search
* Week five - Zeroing in on employers; targeted outreach to decision-makers and influencers
* Week six -Enrolling your network in your job search
* Week seven - Pricing yourself for the market; salary negotiation
How much does the program cost?
The cost is $399 for the seven-week program, which includes seven 95-minute telephone meetings plus:
- six coaching assignments, one associated with each week's job-search topic
- six of Liz's e-books (one per session)
- participation in a members-only online community (Ask Liz Ryan Virtual, on Ning) for ongoing discussion and support
- an audio file of each job-search coaching group session, for your review
- membership in our members-only Ask Liz Ryan Virtual group on LinkedIn, and
- discounts on Liz's one-on-one services
How will the meetings be conducted?
We will use a teleconference bridge line to conduct our seven coaching-and-instruction sessions. You won't need to be at your computer in order to participate. We'll use a members-only online discussion group to continue the conversation between meetings.
How do I pay for the coaching series?
You’ll pay the $399 program fee via the Buy Now button at the bottom of this page. Any charges for the coaching calls would be paid by our members directly to their phone service providers.
If my plans change, is this purchase refundable?
Because the group size is limited by our desire to maintain an effective coaching-group size, Coaching Group purchases aren't refundable, but you can transfer your membership in the group to a friend if your plans change, before the first meeting date. (No other refund or transfer of the registration fee is available.)
